Event Description:
Program: Mahler Adagietto from Symphony no. 5 in C-Sharp Minor | Beethoven Symphony no. 9 in D Minor (“Choral”) For the closing concert of its inaugural season, SoNA explores the theme of love. Mahler’s searing Adagietto is a love song from a husband to his wife, and it is perhaps one of the most famous symphonic movements in music history. The evening ends with Beethoven’s epic Ninth Symphony, which through its final Ode to Joy is a plea for all mankind to embrace and love one another.
