It's better news that Wal-Mart Stores has also announced that it will increase pay and enhance training for its 1.3 million workers in the US. This world's largest retailer plans to spend over $1 billion this year on initiatives that include a pay raise for 40% of its workers in the next 6 months. That means that some 500,000 workers will see a bigger pay check and their families will have more disposable income.
Saving the best for last, Wal-Mart Stores is increasing its starting pay to at least $9 an hour in April and increasing that to $10 an hour by early February next year.
Wal-Mart has 2 stores in Fayetteville employing hundreds of workers. We are looking forward to see our residents benefiting from this positive change. Good job, Wal-Mart for making a difference in our community.
