FAYETTEVILLE, AR- The first annual Awaken Wellness and Yoga Festival will be held at Mount Sequoyah Retreat & Conference Center May 1-3, 2015. The three day event is designed to bring together communities near and far by offering yoga classes, wellness seminars, a vendor garden, food trucks, and live music.
Over 20 yoga teachers and wellness specialists from Texas, Oklahoma, Central and Northwest Arkansas will be leading classes and lectures throughout the weekend. The headlining teachers and speakers include, Dr. Melody Moore, founder of the Embody Love Movement in Dallas, Texas, Chrispy Bhagat Singh, founder of Rockstar Yoga in Austin, Texas, Kendall Inman, founder & owner of Living Yoga Dallas, & Aaron Price with The LifeWorks Institute in Dallas. There will also be many teachers from local Northwest Arkansas studios such as Maitri Yoga, Trailside Yoga Studio, Yoga Deza, and Yoga Gypsy.
“We have so many other incredible people coming to Awaken to share their practice and/or expertise like Aimee Koronczok, from M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas, who has been recently featured in several media outlets, such as ABC News and Texas Medical Center, because of her work teaching yoga to children with cancer. She will be teaching a free kid’s yoga class Saturday afternoon,” said Sarah Rumsey, Co-Director of Awaken Wellness & Yoga Festival and Owner of Maitri Yoga Studio.
“Northwest Arkansas has a very strong yoga community, so we thought it was time to create a festival that provided opportunities to grow the breadth and depth of yoga in the community while creating deeper connections between all of the Northwest Arkansas yogis,” said Rumsey.
Tickets purchased online, before Friday, May 1, are $99 for a three-day weekend pass and $59 for a single-day pass. Tickets will also be available at the door for $109 per weekend pass and $69 for a single day pass.
